Asma Barlas is a Pakistani-American writer and academic. Her specialties include comparative and international politics, Islam and Qur’anic hermeneutics, and women’s studies. She is the author of ‘Believing Women’ in Islam: Unreading Patriarchal Interpretations of the Qu’ran.
